Who We Are

Mullane Literary Associates is an independent literary agency founded in 2008 by Deirdre Mullane, a publishing executive with more than two decades in the industry as a publicist, editor, publisher, editor, agent, and author. We handle primarily serious nonfiction, especially in the areas of history, science, politics, sports, nature/environment, mind/body/spirit, narrative nonfiction, and a small list of literary/commercial fiction. What our clients share is passion, expertise, and a belief that books truly have something indispensable to say about our lives—past, present, and future.

What We Do

We are extremely hands-on, working with our authors at every stage of the process, from book proposal and manuscript development, to publication and marketing, to foreign and subsidiary rights sales. We are interested in writers with serious credentials and distinctive voices, establishing longterm relationships with our clients, and producing books that challenge, inform, entertain, and enlighten.
